Biloxi, MS
Daniel “Dan” Triplett Day, was a humble and unassuming man, who kept his kind and gentle spirit private as he practiced a belief that discreet acts of kindness and compassion truly spoke louder than words. Even among his family and close friends, he
was quick to dismiss any attention or individual recognition for any good deeds he performed and was equally as quick to refocus the credit and accolades upon any others involved in those acts. It was in his inherit nature to perform these acts of kindness for no other reason than that they needed to be done, it was his belief that it was his personal duty and ministry to do for others who could not do for themselves.
After graduating from the University of Mississippi School with a B.S. in Pharmacy in 1987, Dan began his 31-year Pharmacy career working alongside his father James “Jim” M. Day in the family store of Triplett Day Drugs in Downtown Gulfport, which remained in oper- ation until 2021. He was proud to be the 4th genera- tion pharmacist in his family to serve the citizens of our community. In 1998, Dan was instrumental in the establishment of the St. Vincent de Paul Community Pharmacy. He continued his commitment to the homeless, unemployed and less fortunate in the com- munity for over 20 years. Throughout his career, Dan often worked six days a week and for many years do- nated his one day off to serve the patients of the Saint Vincent de Paul Community Pharmacy.
There were innumerable recipients of his random acts of kindness and, out of his own humility and out of respect for those he helped, he would deny any knowledge of or having had any part in those good deeds.
Throughout his life and career, Dan exemplified his Christian compassion and followed our Lords teachings to “Love and Care for Our fellow Man”.
